Why is shipping so expensive?Updated a year ago
This doesn't happen a lot, but with some of our bulkier items like folding tables and transportation carts, shipping can add up on small quantities.
The reason? Most folding tables and carts are simply too large and/or heavy to be shipped with parcel carriers like FedEx or UPS.
Items like these must be shipped with a freight carrier on a pallet. And, unfortunately, freight carriers charge for the space taken up in the truck, not just by the volume of the shipment.
In other words, a single 72" round table takes up 36 square feet of space on the truck. Adding insult to injury, the other 2 feet of space next to it is unusable, so the carrier will often charge for that space as well!
The only solution, and it may not be right for everyone, is to order more products. That way we can use the additional room we are already paying for, and you just may qualify for free shipping after a certain point.
