Why Freight Shipping Costs More
Many of our products, like folding tables, transportation carts, and other large event equipment, are simply too big and heavy to ship through standard parcel carriers like FedEx or UPS. These items must be shipped via freight carriers on pallets, which comes with higher costs for several reasons:
- Space Over Weight: Freight carriers charge based on the space your shipment takes up, not just its weight. For example, a 72" round table takes up 36 square feet on a truck, and the extra space around it can’t be filled—so the carrier charges for that space too.
- Minimum Charges: Even small freight shipments are subject to minimum fees, meaning shipping one item might not be much cheaper than shipping several.
- Handling & Delivery Fees: Freight deliveries often involve additional charges for residential deliveries, limited access locations, or the use of lift-gates for heavy items.
